What is CPO Pride Day?
Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Pride Day, observed in September of every year, is a special day to honor and celebrate the historical and ongoing contributions of chief petty officers in the United States Navy as well as celebrate the newly selected Chief Petty Officers going through the CPO season.
The origins of Chief Petty Officer Pride Day can be traced back to the establishment of the rank of chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy in 1893. The rank of chief petty officer holds a unique and esteemed position within the Navy, serving as a bridge between officers and enlisted personnel. Over the years, chief petty officers have played a crucial role in mentoring and developing junior sailors, providing leadership and expertise, and upholding the highest standards of naval service.
Chief Petty Officer Pride Day serves as an opportunity to connect with our brothers & sisters, and connect with our local community of retirees/veterans, all while recognizing and expressing appreciation for the dedication, professionalism, and leadership of chief petty officers. It is a day to reflect on the rich traditions and history of the rank, and to honor those who have served and continue to serve as chief petty officers in the U.S. Navy.

The Vision & Early Beginnings
CPO Pride Day Jax was a vision that was birthed by a group of local U.S. Navy Chiefs with a desire to bring the camaraderie, traditions, and talents of the U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer to the community at large, the City of Jacksonville and NE Florida as a whole.
While other gatherings were taking place in the years before the very first CPO Pride Day JAX took place in 2014, they looked at the success of other organized events across the nation and desired to emulate and even exceed the success of that event by having one here locally in Jacksonville FL.
