Day 4: COMREL

COMREL INFO

Participants will assist with:

Cleaning and washing historic aircraft static displays
Pressure washing designated areas
Cleaning hard-to-reach portions of aircraft displays
Landscaping and general beautification
Removing debris and refreshing areas throughout Heritage Park
Helping restore the overall appearance of one of NAS Jacksonville's most visible heritage areas

This is our opportunity to leave Heritage Park better than we found it while reinforcing the connection between service, teamwork, and Naval heritage.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

0745 - Working Party Muster
Committee members muster participating Chiefs and CPO Selectees and organize working parties.

0800 - Task Assignments
Participants are divided into teams and assigned aircraft, landscaping areas, or other project requirements.

0815 - COMREL Begins
Working parties begin cleaning, washing, landscaping, and restoration efforts.

1200 - Secure COMREL / Group Photo
All working parties secure, clean their respective areas, and muster for a final group photo.

DROP-OFF & PARKING

PARKING & EQUIPMENT DROP-OFF

Designated parking areas will be available near Heritage Park.

A separate supply and equipment drop-off area is identified adjacent to the park to allow commands to unload pressure washers, hoses, coolers, ladders, and other working-party equipment before parking.

Participants should follow all posted directions and instructions from COMREL Committee members upon arrival.

WHAT EACH COMMAND SHOULD BRING

Participating commands should come prepared to support their working party.

Recommended supplies include:

Coolers with water, Gatorade, and snacks
Pressure washers
Garden hoses — approximately 100 feet
Buckets
Cleaning rags
Sponges
Ladders for higher areas of aircraft displays
Appropriate cleaning solutions
Telescoping poles and scrubbers for hard-to-reach areas

Commands are encouraged to coordinate internally before arrival to ensure their teams have the equipment necessary to accomplish assigned tasks.

PROFESSIONALISM & EXPECTATIONS

All Chiefs and CPO Selectees are expected to conduct themselves professionally throughout the event and in accordance with applicable CPO Season guidance.

Participants will follow the direction of:

Command Master Chiefs
COMREL Committee Leads
CPO Season leadership
Sheriffs and designated Sheriff Deputies

This is a Navy installation and a highly visible heritage site. Our conduct, teamwork, and respect for the aircraft and grounds should reflect the standards expected of the Chief Petty Officer Mess.

CPO Heritage Week is about more than remembering where we came from.

It is about demonstrating what it means to be a Chief.

We preserve our heritage by serving.
We strengthen the Mess by working together.
We develop our future Chiefs by showing them what right looks like.

On September 3, we will put those principles into action at NAS Jacksonville Heritage Park.
